OVERVIEW
Welcome to Twin Science! These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Twin Student App and Twin Web Platform (collectively referred to as the "Services"). By accessing and using the Services, you agree to comply with these Terms. Please read them carefully before using the Services.
DEFINITIONS
Twin Science: Refers to TWIN SCIENCE & ROBOTICS UK LIMITED, the owner and operator of the Twin Student App and Twin Web Platform.
Twin Student App: Refers to the mobile application developed by Twin Science, providing children with STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) education and various educational modules. The app is available under the name Twin Science: STEM Learning on Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
Twin Web Platform: Refers to the online platform developed by Twin Science, designed for educators and parents to access educational content and monitor student progress.
User: Refers to children who use the Twin Student App for STEAM education with parental approval, accessing modules such as challenges, interactive educational videos, games, forums, adventures, trivia, and Twin Science Kits content.
Educator: Refers to individuals who are educators or educational institutions using the Twin Web Platform to access curriculum-aligned content, create communities, assign content, and view community or user reports.
Parent: Refers to individuals who sign up for the Twin Student App and use the Twin Web Platform to monitor their children's progress, access their children's reports, and engage with their children's educational journey.
Personal Data: Refers to any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.
User-Generated Content: Refers to any content, including comments, posts, or other materials, generated and submitted by users through the Services.
PURPOSE AND SCOPE
Twin Student App: The Twin Student App is a mobile application designed to provide children with STEAM education while imparting 21st-century skills. The app offers various modules, including challenges (DIY projects), interactive educational videos, games, forums, adventures, trivia, shop, and Twin Science Kits content.
Twin Web Platform: The Twin Web Platform is designed for educators and parents. Educators can access curated and curriculum-aligned content, create communities, assign content, and access reports on community and user performance. Parents can access the Twin Web Platform to view their child's reports as a premium feature.
USER ELIGIBILITY
Twin Student App: The Twin Student App is intended for children between the ages of 7 and 18 who seek educational content and activities. The app provides a safe and age-appropriate environment for children to explore and learn.
Twin Web Platform: The Twin Web Platform is designed for parents and educators who wish to facilitate and enhance the learning experience of their children or students. Educators can utilize the platform's features and content to create engaging lessons and monitor student progress. Parents can access the Twin Web Platform to gain insights into their child’s learning journey.
By proceeding with account creation for the Twin Web Platform, it is acknowledged and accepted that the account holder is at least 18 years of age and meets all eligibility requirements to use the Services. Twin Science reserves the right to terminate accounts that fail to comply with these eligibility standards.
USER REGISTRATION
Twin Student App: Users of the Twin Student App are required to have parental approval to create an account to access the features. During the registration process, parents will be asked to provide their email address, create a password, and provide their name and birth year for both themselves and the child for verification purposes (the name can only be seen by the parent or educator on the Twin Web Platform).
Twin Web Platform: Educators must create an account to access the Twin Web Platform. During registration, educators will be prompted to provide their email address, create a password, and provide their name and birth year. Parents can sign in directly with the details provided to create their child’s account.
USER RESPONSIBILITIES
Twin Student App: Users of the Twin Student App are responsible for their activities and conduct within the app. They must adhere to the guidelines and policies set forth by Twin Science. Users should not engage in any prohibited activities or upload any content that violates intellectual property rights or any applicable laws.
Twin Web Platform: Educators and parents accessing the Twin Web Platform are responsible for the appropriate use of the platform and its features. Educators are responsible for ensuring the privacy and security of their students' data. Users must not misuse the platform or engage in any activities that violate applicable laws or regulations.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Ownership: Twin Science retains all intellectual property rights to the Twin Student App and Twin Web Platform. Users are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Services in accordance with these Terms.
User Content: By using the Services, users may generate and submit content such as comments, posts, or other materials.
DATA PRIVACY AND SECURITY
Data Collection and Use: Twin Science collects and uses personal data in accordance with applicable privacy laws and its Privacy Policy. The collection and use of personal data are necessary to provide the Services, communicate with users, and improve the user experience. Twin Science takes appropriate measures to protect user privacy and ensure data security.
User Data Retention: Twin Science retains user data for the duration necessary to fulfill educational purposes, comply with legal obligations, or provide related services. When an account is terminated, Twin Science deletes or anonymizes associated personal data, following applicable data retention policies.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Twin Science strives to provide a reliable and secure platform for users. However, Twin Science cannot guarantee uninterrupted access or the absence of errors or security breaches. Users understand and agree that the use of the Services is at their own risk, and Twin Science shall not be liable for any damages or losses incurred.
GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION
These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where Twin Science is registered. Any disputes arising out of or related to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that jurisdiction.
UPDATES AND MODIFICATIONS
Twin Science reserves the right to update or modify these Terms of Use at any time. Users will be notified of any material changes via email or through the updated date mentioned in the relevant documents. Continued use of the Services after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
